Early lead not enough for Field Falcons 9U, drop 9-5 decision to the Copley Indians

Field Falcons 9U came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 9-5 ballgame against the Copley Indians on Wednesday at Brimfield Elementary.

An error gave the Copley Indians the lead in the fifth inning.

 

Anthony Schwind reached base two times in the game for Field Falcons 9U.

 

Misener recorded the win for the Copley Indians. He pitched three shutout innings. He struck out one, walked two and surrendered no hits.

Carter Little couldn't get it done on the bump for Field Falcons 9U, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in two innings, walked three and struck out three.

The bottom of the second saw Field Falcons 9U take an early lead, 2-0. More runs came home for Field Falcons 9U when L scored on a groundout by Tim Farnsworth.

After a quick strike from the Copley Indians, Field Falcons 9U responded with three runs in the third. Field Falcons 9U scored on a two-run double by Grady Eader and an RBI single by Mason Long.

The Copley Indians pushed across two runs in both the fourth inning and the fifth. In the fourth, the Copley Indians scored on an RBI single by Osborne, scoring Misener.

The Copley Indians never surrendered the lead after the fifth inning, scoring two runs on an error and an RBI single by Misener.
